The Young White Wine of Bodega El Fabulista is made from grapes of the Viura variety and provides a great fruity sensation.
This white wine speaks of the youthfulness of the wine, the explosion of white, yellow and green fruit aromas, and of a bold Samaniego reminiscent of his training in France. His approach to the encyclopaedic movement led resulted in his scathing criticism of politics and religion. A freedom-loving and sceptical spirit that led him to make fun of privileges.
The Fisherman and the Fish
A fisherman pulled in his net
to find he had caught a little fish.
“Please -exclaimed the innocent prisoner-,
let me go; that’s all I ask,
I will not deceive you.
Now I am small but, in a year,
you will surely have the great fortune
of catching me again when I am bigger than my grandfather.
What! You mock me? You laugh at my plight?
In a similar situation
a little brother of mine
was returned to the river by a fisherman.”
“Returned to the river? That’s foolish!
-the fisherman replied-. Didn’t he know
the Spanish proverb
that says: A bird in the hand…?
To the frying pan I say; my stomach
will not be filled by expectations.”
(Recreation, in English, of the fable El pescador y el pez by Félix María de Samaniego).
